How To Reduce Fingertip Pain the Natural Way

Fingertip pain can be a real nuisance for anyone who plays an instrument. It can make playing difficult and sometimes painful. You don’t have to put up with it, though.

Keep Fingers Moving
The best way to keep your fingertips moving is to stretch them out at least once per day. Make sure you don’t push too far, since that can make the pain worse.
Another way to keep your fingertips moving is to have a cup of water on hand and when you need to stretch them, dip them in the cup. You should do this for about five minutes and then dry off your fingers with a towel or napkin before continuing with playing.

If you want to stop fingertip pain for good, try using a humidifier in your bedroom or at work overnight. This helps relieve some of the inflammation that causes injury and discomfort in the first place.

Start Exercising Your Fingers
You may not realize, but your fingers are actually a muscle group. They’re made up of muscles that are responsible for movement of your fingers and also tendons, which connect the muscles to bones. When you play an instrument, you use those muscles quite frequently. To help relieve pain in your fingertips, start exercising these muscles regularly by doing finger exercises on a daily basis.

Change Your Strings or Pianos
If you experience fingertip pain, one of the best ways to get rid of it is by changing your strings or pianos. If you’re looking for a new set of strings, try visiting a local music store and getting a set that’s made with nickel-wound strings.
